The Foundation has its origin in a Deed by the Reverend Benjamin Carter dated 1727,
and its first priority remains the successful running of
South Wilford Endowed Church of England Primary School.
When funds allow, the Trustees may on the basis of financial need offer Grants to individual young people to support them in their education in its widest sense, including their personal, physical, and in some cases professional development.
Grants may also be made to groups that cater for young people in the ancient parish of Wilford, Nottingham.
The Ancient Parish of Wilford, Nottingham, included Wilford Village, Silverdale, Compton Acres, part of West Bridgford mainly west of Loughborough Road, and parts of the south of the Meadows.
The Foundation is administered by a Board of Trustees appointed by various local organisations.
The number and value of Grants are at the discretion of the Trustees
having regard to the number of applicants and the funds available.
